The Bodhisattva is a being who has taken a vow to help save all sentient beings before reaching personal enlightenment.
THE BODHISATTVA VOW 2003 CONFERRED BY THE DALAI LAMA UPON SANCTUARY DIRECTOR, MARIANNE MOHR
With a wish to free all beings
I shall go for refuge
To the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha,
Until I reach full enlightenment.
Enthused by wisdom and compassion,
today in the Buddhas' presence I generate
the Mind for Full Awakening
For the benefit of all sentient beings.
As long as space remains,
As long as sentient beings remain, Until then, may I too remain,
And dispel the miseries of the world.
THE BUDDHIST WORLD VIEW
FOUR NOBLE TRUTHS
1.   Suffering exists
2.   Suffering arises from attachment to desires
3.   Suffering ceases when attachment to desire ceases
4.   Freedom from suffering is possible by practicing the Eightfold Path
EIGHTFOLD PATH
There are eight attitudes or paths, which help us to find freedom from suffering
